New dilution fridge coming !
A dilution fridge is being installed in our lab. Hear the story behind it !
In september, we moved in a dilution refrigerator that will be installed very soon in our lab. The story of this fridge is quite old. It is the first prototype built in 2010 by the founder of the company Cryoconcept for Michel Devoret and Benjamin Huard group at ENS Paris. Since this, it had moved to ENS de Lyon in the quantum circuit group where Benjamin Huard was appointed professor around year 2019. Fifteen years later, the fridge has been purchased by Alexis Jouan and is going to be installed in at LPEM to perform cryogenic measurements.
Currently the software that controls the fridge is being updated, and soon we’ll be able to perform the first cooldown. We can’t wait to perform our first measurement at a few mili-Kelvin ! Stay tuned.
